Disappointment at Stade Saputo: Montreal falls to Real Salt Lake, 1-2

Another loss as Montreal falls at home

MLS: Atlanta United FC at CF Montreal Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

A disappointing result at home and despite the early lead by Djordje Mihailovic, Montreal was out shot, created less and overall despite having possession could not make it count.

Nothing clicked for Wilfried Nancy’s team after the opening goal in the opening minute and they could not overcome a hungrier RSL side.

Injuries could be starting to settle in as two key starters were out, the team responded well in the opening 45, but not enough to win.

3 observations

  • Miha continues to be on a tear of form, very good play by him. He will need to stay at current form if Montreal are to compete for top 3 in the Eastern Conference.
  • Torres is a bit of an unsung hero, has been solid all season and had a nice hockey assist in the only goal.
  • Wanyama continues to prove his worth, plays well in this 3 man back behind him and with another pivot player next to him.
