CF Montréal have their second departure in the transfer market. Ismael Kone is on the way to Watford in England.
A record deal for CFM is being reported as the fee can be €8-10m. Really good deal for CFM who will look to invest that wisely as the roster turnover continues.
Kone has really impressed at the club since making his first team debut and even these past couple weeks at the World Cup mixing it up with players like Kevin De Bruyne and looking the part.
Canadian gem Ismael Kone is set to join Watford, here we go — it will be record transfer fee for Montreal ⚫️ #transfers

Pozzo’s project includes Watford and Udinese for near future — it’s the most attractive one for Kone despite offers from Italian, German, Dutch clubs. pic.twitter.com/6yIAPjFG7J
The news comes amid a bevy of departures that friend of the site Manuel Veth sums up here:
#CFMTL this offseason:

✅Mihailovic sold for €6m to AZ Alkmaar
✅Johnston sold for €3.5m + add-ons to #CelticFC
Ismaël Koné to Watford for €8-10m
Montréal are set to earn between €17.5m and €19.5m while having spent just about €2.2m on those three players. Remarkable! pic.twitter.com/fECMD4gaA8
The good news is they now have a good pot to spend wisely as the club looks to fill at least two designated player spots and perhaps a third as Romell Quioto can be bought down (Andre Pierre Gignac anyone).
Could we see a big swing, perhaps, as the club is close to tying down Alan Sonora and rumors swirl of a big name as well.
For now, let’s wish all our departing players the best of luck and thank them for the time here.
