This is the sixth of a series of personnel management analyses targeting what the Montreal Impact should prioritize over the winter months in preparation for the 2016 season. Check in for an update every day organized by position.

Wingers
Current Depth Chart:
1- Ignacio Piatti
2- Andres Romero
3- Justin Mapp
4- Dilly Duka
5- Johan Venegas
6- Maxim Tissot
The Montreal Impact are perhaps deeper on the wings than at any other position. With Ignacio Piatti being shifted to the left side, and assuming that Andres Romero and Justin Mapp both head into next March healthy on the right side, the Impact have Dilly Duka and Johan Venegas coming in off the bench who can both play left, right, and central attacking midfield positions.
If any of Romero, Duka, or Venegas can be converted into an everyday central attacking midfielder, then the Impact might be able to save their last DP slot and use it on a forward. However it's easier to argue that the Impact are more in need of a DP central attacking midfielder than a DP striker because of their preference for a 1-striker formation and the fact that Didier Drogba will probably play a huge amount of minutes barring injury.
A wild card here is definitely Venegas. We can assume with reasonable accuracy what to expect from the likes of Piatti, Mapp, Romero, and Duka. But Venegas remains a bit of an enigma for IMFC fans. If Venegas can push his way up the depth chart, then that makes everyone else's role slightly easier to fulfill.
Recommendation: Attempt to go into the 2016 season with this depth chart. Consider parting with one of these pieces via trade in order to fulfill other items on wishlist.
