The Montreal Impact have seemingly added the final piece to its back-line after signing, Belgian international, Laurent Ciman to a MLS contract. After acquiring Bakary Soumare in the Re-Entry Draft, Frank Klopas is getting his squad as complete as possible before the CCL quarter-final game vs Pachuca.
The Standard de Liège defender just recently played against Westerlo, in a 1-1 tie, during which Ciman was saying his goodbyes for one last time to the fans. His head coach, Vukomanovic, confirmed his departure after the game.
Laurent has asked to leave for family reason. .. I am not against it. He should still be here [Standard de Liège] one last time against Anderlecht.
For personal reason, Ciman was seeking improved conditions and treatments for his daughter, who has severe autism, and was looking for a more suitable place for his family. Swiss club, FC Sion, was also seeking the services of the central defender but the Impact convinced him that Montreal is the best choice for both his career and family.
Different Montreal-based journalists have confirmed the news and we awaiting the club's official confirmation via press release.
