Major League Soccer will use replacement referees after PSRA Lock Out

The referees' union and PRO failed in reaching its first ever collective bargaining agreement and PRO has declared a lockout. Jorge Luna will be the referee for the Montreal Impact game vs FC Dallas.

The new crew for the Montreal Impact game vs FC Dallas are:

Jorge Luna - Former MLS official (4th)
Luis Guardia - Open Cup
Pedro Trejo - International, NASL

Poor refereeing has already marred MLS and the running gags were pretty much limitless. The good news is that First Kick 2014 will still go on as planned but it is still worrisome knowing that both parties have been negotiating since July 2013.

We have made a substantial proposal to the Professional Soccer Referees Association and believe it is very fair and reasonable. Our proposal represents a significant increase above current compensation for referees and places them above the average for officials around the world. We are disappointed it has been rejected.
