Mexico's Record Mundial is reporting that Montreal Impact's Hernan Bernardello is set to join Mexican club Cruz Azul in a matter of days. The website even reports that Bernardello is currently in Mexico to sign the contract. The 27-year old Argentinean signed with Montreal as a Designated Player in July 2013.
It was a known fact that Bernardello's contract had an option as of the summer of 2013 but it was never clear whether it was the club's or the player's option on whether to extend the contract or not. At this point, it might be more than possible to expect another signing by the Impact as the rumor bringing Ignacio Piatti has intensified.
It has been quite a busy summer for the Impact's management and coaching staff as per player procurement.
