Nick De Santis did confirm to the media present at Wednesday's practice that there are talks between the Montreal Impact and Bologna FC, specifically about Daniele Paponi.
But now, It has been confirmed that the 24-year old striker will be coming to Montreal on April 3rd on a ''trial'' period and train with the club. The MLS transfer window closes on April 14th 2013 so a contract must be signed with the player by then and hence a deal between the Impact and Bologna.
Daniele Paponi made his Serie A debut at the age 17 with Parma and scored his first goal a year later in 2006. He is known for the famous ''scorpion kick'' that was also his first goal. Since, he has struggled to find a regular spot with a club and has left and come back to Parma after a couple of Serie B stints. He joins Bologna FC in June of 2010 on a 5-yearcontract valued at that time around €120,000 net plus bonuses.
During his time at Bologna FC, he played and practiced alongside current Impact players, Marco Di Vaio and Andrea Pisanu.
