The Montreal Impact have confirmed ,via press release, that it is working on a 1-year loan deal for US defender Zarek Valentin.

The PA-native is already in Norway for a physical, a condition to complete the loan. FK Bodø/Glimt is a Norwegian club from the town of Bodø, currently playing in Norway's second division, also called Adeccoligaen.

Having started the first game of preseason at the Disney Pro Classic, Valentin has not seen any MLS minutes (in 2013) with the club under new head coach Marco Schällibaum .After playing over 2000 minutes in 2011 with Chivas USA, the U23 USMNT international saw his playing cut in half in 2012. His diminution in playing time coincided with the arrival of Alessandro Nesta at the back, putting Hassoun Camara as the club's right back.

Karl W. Ouimette's first start , to replace an injured Nesta, was the definitive sign that Valentin would not be in Montreal for long. Even as a Generation Adidas player, Zarek Valentin's salary cap hit was at 100% as he played over 2000 minutes in Major League Soccer, something accomplished with Chivas USA in 2011.

The official press release from the Montreal Impact

The Montreal Impact is working on a one-year loan of defender Zarek Valentin to Norwegian second division club FK Bodø/Glimt. The loan will be finalized once the deal is signed following Valentin's physical, who is currently in Norway.

Valentin, 21, has not seen the field in 2013 with the Impact in regular season play. Last season, he played 15 games for 1,116 minutes.

This loan will give the U.S. native playing time and experience overseas.
