mountroyalsoccer.com has highlighted the recent signing of young Scottish player Aaron Hickey, who finally joined Joey Saputo’s Bologna last week (see; Hearts Starlet Off To Bologna) .
The Rossoblu promised the youngster first-team football which helped sway the 18-year-old’s decision towards joining them and not Bayern Munich, who also hosted the player and his family a few months back.
The Serie A club were as good as their word. No sooner had the ink dried on Hickey’s signature than he was making his Bologna debut in this evening’s Derby dell’Emiliana against Parma.
And it could hardly have gone better for the former Hearts starlet. Bologna triumphed 4-1, he played 80 minutes and was given a standing ovation by the Stadio Dall’Ara crowd of 1,000.
And coach Sinisa Mihajlovic had this to say... “Hickey has both personality and quality, he has a great future ahead of him. He’s lively and is learning aleady.”

The Impact’s young centre-back Luis Binks will have been watching this one with interest, since Bologna is his destination at the end of the year, where he will be working hard to line up alongside Hickey in Serie A.
Bologna have played two league games this season so far and have 3 points.
