Bother just seems to follow Manchester United’s Paul Pogba around.
Although this time it’s his country France who look set to suffer most.
BBC Football reports Pogba has tested positive for coronavirus, confirmed by France manager Didier Deschamps.
Obviously the greatest concern now is for the health and welfare of the player, and the 27-year-old will have to self-isolate for 14 days and miss France’s Nations League game in Sweden on Saturday week (5 Sept) and the home game against Croatia three days later.
Pogba could still be eligible for selection for United’s Premier League opener against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on 19 September.
Manchester United said: “Everybody at United wishes Paul a speedy recovery ahead of the new season.”
