MLS has just announced Montreal Impact’s clash with bitter rivals, Toronto FC has been put back 24 hours.

Instead of playing Wednesday evening (15 July) the game now takes place the following evening at 8pm (TVA Sports, TSN, 98.5fm, TSN690).

Toronto’s opening game of the competition against DC United, originally scheduled for 0900 am this morning (12 July), was postponed to Monday, July 13 at 0900am EDT, due to the league’s health and safety protocol which both teams must follow.

Yesterday after testing there were concerns against two players from the clubs; one produced an initial unconfirmed positive COVID-19 case, while there was also an inconclusive test carried out on another.

Both teams participated in another round of testing Sunday, and all players from the two clubs tested negative.
