Luis Binks’ performance on Thursday against New England was one of the few highlights of a hugely disappointing evening. The former Tottenham youngster can now expect to make his sixth start for the club, in Wednesday’s Montreal/Toronto derby against the strange backdrop of an empty baseball cum football field in Orlando.

“I’ve heard a lot about it and researched it on the internet. 401 derby I believe it’s called.

“I expect it to be very intense, a very physical game. I know their team is quite experienced with a lot of good players so it will be a good game.”

After this morning’s training session Binks said he was feeling good and very fit. “The training we did in Montreal has helped us coming into the tournament to be fit as a team, but there’s some things we need to work on to hopefully win on Wednesday.”

Asked what went wrong against the Revs, the central defender focussed on the Impact’s lack of chances created and their inability to possess the ball.

“We didn’t create enough chances and weren’t good enough on the ball. We didn’t keep it as well as we would have liked. Going into Wednesday’s game that is something we simply must improve upon.”
