Montreal Impact will meet New England Revolution in the first game of the MLS-is-Back tournament in Florida on Thursday, July 9 at 8pm in Orlando, it was announced Wednesday.
The game most fans will be looking forward to follows next on Wednesday, July 15, also at 8pm, when the Impact go head to head with bitter rivals Toronto FC.
Montreal completes the round robin series with a game against DC United six days later (Tuesday, July 21). This one kicks off at 1030 pm
Inter Miami will meet Orlando City in the tournament’s opening game on Wednesday, July 8 at 8pm.
Each team will play three games in the round robin, which is made up of six groups (one group of six teams and five groups of four teams).
The top three clubs in group A (the one with six teams) as well as the top two from the other five groups (B-C-D-E-F) will advance to the elimination phase. They will be joined by the three teams with the best playing records from the remaining clubs.
The tournament’s final is scheduled for Tuesday, August 11.
