Drogba goes head to head with Romero and there’s a Belgium/France clash between defenders Ciman and Camara.

Tonight sees the beginning of the straight knock-out stages in our quest to determine Montreal Impact’s Greatest-ever MLS-player.

And it throws up a couple of intriguing ties.

Clearly Didier Drogba will be a hot favourite against Andres Romero, but it will be interesting to see how close the Argentinian wide man can run the former Chelsea FC legend.

The other tie looks like a closer affair. The ever-popular Hassoun Camara may just be able to upset Laurent Ciman, who could find Toronto FC allegiances provide a more influential hurdle than it did in Group E, which he topped with the second-lowest percentage of all eight group winners. Camara managed to win a 25% share of the vote when up against Didier Drogba in Group D. This one could be in the balance. We shall see.

Andres Romero who polled 31% (joint-highest with Ambroise Oyongo of all the group runners-up) of the Group E vote against Ciman, Fanni and Urruti, will be hoping his support holds up against Drogba.

Realistically, you can see really only one outcome in this one, and a repeat vote of 31% for Romero may feel like a moral victory, but I wonder how much of a factor it will be that his service to the club was over a longer period than that of the Ivorian.

Don’t forget, two polls tonight. You have to vote twice, once in each. It’s now down to straight knock-out.
