Former Barcelona star Bojan Krkic tonight emerged the winner of the fan poll for Group B in the process to establish Montreal Impact’s Greatest-ever MLS player.

Despite so far only making 13 appearances and scoring 3 goals for the Bleu/Blanc/Noir, the Spaniard managed to attract 43% of the fan vote.

Current club captain Jukka Raitala ran Bojan closest winning a 29% share of the vote and also advances to the round of 16. Victor Cabrera pipped Daniel Lovitz for the minor placings with a respectable 15% and 13% share respectively, but not enough to avoid elimination at the group stage.

In the round of 16 Bojan will meet the runner-up of of Group G which contains Ignacio Piatti, Davy Arnaud, Dilly Duka and Orji Okwonkwo, while Raitala will face off against the member of that quartet which polls highest.

Group C voting is now underway, involving Bernier, Mapp, Sagna and Brault-Guilllard, with the American making the most of the early running.

But voting doesn’t close until 2200 tomorrow evening (Friday), so there’s a long way to go and I am sure a few more twists and turns to come...
