Impact’s long-serving goal-keeper Evan Bush carried 37% of the fans’ vote in Group A in the mountroyalsoccer.com competition to find the club’s Greatest-ever MLS Player.

Cameroon international full-back Ambroise Oyongo pipped local favourite Sam Piette into second place garnering 31% to Piette’s 27%.

Alejandro Silva who remained at the club for only one season, brought up the rear in the group, finishing 4th with only a 6% share of the vote.

The big surprise of course is Sam Piette’s early elimination in the group stages. Most, the writer included, would have expected the Bulldog to go deep into this competition, perhaps not win it overall, but certainly to emerge unscathed from the group.

Bush and Oyongo will need to wait around one week to find out their opponents in the round of 16. Bush faces the runner-up from Group H, comprising Felipe, Donadel, Taider and Diallo, while Oyongo awaits the Group H winner.

Voting in Group B is already underway tonight and will end at 2200 hrs tomorrow evening. The group comprises, Victor Cabrera, Daniel Lovitz, Jukka Raitala and Bojan Krkic.
