The voting for Group B is now underway to return two players from four in the quest to find Montreal Impact’s Greatest-ever Player.
Group B pits Spanish maestro, Bojan against three stalwart defenders. It would be a surprise should the former Barcelona man not top this group on ability alone, but one never knows. His relatively short term at the club could see some voters, favouring longevity, loyalty and sterling service, choosing any one of the remaining trio.
Everyone has their own ideas as to criteria when it comes to selecting a club’s greatest player.
Here’s the Group B line-up -
Victor Cabrera -
Teak tough centre-back also used at right-back early in his Montreal career. Came from Argentina’s River Plate in 2015 and went on to amass 114 appearances (all competitions), sixth overall for IMFC in the MLS-era, scoring one goal (against Alajuelense). Moved on to Houston Dynamo earlier this year.

Daniel Lovitz -
91 appearances for the Impact after leaving Toronto FC in 2017. Daniel was named club defender of the year in 2018 and played his way onto the US MNT, winning 13 caps since debuting last year. Scored 1 goal for the Impact in MLS. Moved on to expansion side Nashville SC in 2020.

Jukka Raitala -
Current club captain and Finnish international full-back, who was a key component in his country’s first-ever qualification for a major finals, the 2020 (now 2021) Euros. Made his debut in 2018 after being part of the deal that saw Laurent Ciman move to LAFC. 64 apps (all comps) and 1 goal to date, for the Impact.

Bojan Krkic -
Several years in Europe’s top leagues and twice a Champions League winner with Barcelona despite not seeing action in either final. Has also three La Liga titles to his credit and played for Roma, Milan, Ajax and Stoke City in England’s Premier League. Still only 13 apps (all comps) for IMFC and 3 goals, but the superb technical ability he possesses ensures consideration.
