LA Galaxy has signed former Impact beanpole striker Nick DePuy, the Californian club announced yesterday.
The Irvine, California native was at the Impact from January 2017 until departing in August 2018, during which time he saw loan spells at Ottawa Fury and Danish first division club, Fremad Amager.
DePuy signed for LA Galaxy II in March 2019 and was voted the club’s Defensive Player of the Year paving the way for his move up to Galaxy’s MLS team.
Nick DePuy made five appearances for the Impact, starting only one game, all as a striker and failed to hit the net.
“Nick has shown promise in his career with LA Galaxy II and we are confident in his ability to play at an MLS level,” said LA Galaxy GM Dennis te Kloese in a statement. “He was one of the most consistent defenders last season for Los Dos and we believe he will grow in this role on the first team. We look forward to Nick continuing to represent this club.”
DePuy made 26 appearances including 21 starts last season helping Los Dos earn a place in the 2019 USL Championship Playoffs.
