Five times Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo (35) has tested positive for coronavirus, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has announced.

Ronaldo is reportedly “doing well without symptoms, and in isolation,” said the FPF in a statement released today.

The Portuguese national team play Sweden in a Nations League group game on Wednesday but the rest of the squad has been given a full bill of health. They’ve all tested negative and are available for selection.

Assuming Ronaldo makes a full recovery there remains implications for Juventus. Due to quarantine, Ronaldo will miss Juve’s Serie A fixture at Crotone on 17 October and the Italian champions’ opening Champions League fixture against Ukraine’s Dynamo Kiev on October 20.

He must also be listed as doubtful for their second game in the competition, against Barcelona on October 28, and the preceding Serie A game when Verona is the opposition.
