Daniel Lovitz took his international cap collection into double figures after seeing game time against both Mexico and Uruguay.
Impact’s left-sided defender was introduced in the 68th minute against the Mexicans in front of 48,000 in New Jersey, with the score at 0-1 to the visitors. Lovitz replaced 18 year-old Ajax Amsterdam starlet Sergino Dest (18).
Both sides made six changes each as the Mexicans added to their lead through PSV Eindhoven’s Erick Gutierrez (78) and Carlos Antuna of the LA Galaxy (82), to run out 3-0 victors.
The US fared better last night in front of 21,00 at Busch Stadium, St Louis, holding an under-strength Uruguay to a 1-1 draw. Again Lovitz replaced Dest around the 70-minute mark, with his side trailing to a goal by LAFC’s Brian Rodriguez.
The Americans equalized through Seattle’s Jordan Morris with just over 10 mins to play, after which there was no further scoring.
