Goal Initiatives Foundation Returns to Montreal July 6 & 7.

Two-Day Wellness festival at Percival Molson Stadium ....

Footy fan or soccer-lover, why not get yourself down to Molson Stadium this weekend?

It’s free just to walk on in, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the fun.

On Saturday 6th the venue hosts Montreal’s First Wellness Festival and Footy Tournament, perfect if you are planning to head to the Impact game later that evening which doesn’t kick-off until 7.30pm. Events at Molson wind down 90 minutes before the Impact get underway, giving you plenty of time to head to the Stade.

Saturday’s event is followed on Sunday (7th) by GOAL MTL, Canada’s most notable Footy Festival & Tournament, an event that’s now established as part of the Montreal summer soccer calendar.

Both events are fundraisers for underfunded sports and wellness programs for disadvantaged youth throughout the city. There will be something for everyone: delicious food, healthy drinks and cocktails, round tables, big-screen Women’s World Cup Final, music by The Undergrand$ and much, much more!

Star athletes will be in attendance, like Montreal Impact goalkeeper, Evan Bush, and some of his team-mates, John Bowman of the Alouettes and more, coming on-site to cheer on the participating teams.

GOAL WELLNESS - Saturday - There will be plenty of good food and drinks; smoothies and Energy Balls by Marinelli Brothers, and nutritional shakes by LYNQ, on-site, and more! Alcohol is not available on Saturday, only at the Sunday event.

Plenty of activities will be going on - KYT Soccer’s mini soccer clinic, I-saute Trampoline, complimentary haircuts by Maison Privee, Passion Soccer Boutique, on-site activations by Evenko, On-site Under Pressure Art & Grafiti, FIFA 19, Kiehl’s beauty consultations, Tx Therapies and more!

The event opens each day at 1000 with Saturday’s GOAL WELLNESS a non-alcoholic community event. The Women’s World Cup Third & Fourth Place Match will be Live on the Big Screen, with the day’s Soccer Tournament kicking-off at noon. There are still team spots available to any group (18+). Teams can join for an entry fee of $550 (charity receipt provided). Contact Goal Founder, Paul Desbaillets, on paul@goalinitiatives.org if interested, or indeed if interested in any aspect of GOAL WELLNESS. It’s a great opportunity for some team-building activity for teams from your workplaces, so why not join in.

There’s a speaker series with conversations on Wellness going on from 1.30pm, moderated by Ryan Aronson, who is joined by speakers; Shaun Proulx (Sirius XM Talkshow Host), Lee Haberkorn (Virgin Radio) and Sterling Downey (Deputy Mayor of Montreal & Founder of Under Pressure Grafiti Festival).

Beneficiary of GOAL WELLNESS is Dans La Rue, an organization which helps homeless and ‘at risk’ youth.

GOAL MTL - Sunday -

GOAL MTL on the Sunday is a cultural festival that brings together soccer and the worlds of art, music, culture and our communities. GOAL brings together merchants, employees, residents, children, families, volunteers, celebrities and athletes for a common good - raising money for underfunded and underprivileged organizations.

Again an hour after 10am opening the big screen gets into action for the presentation of the Women’s World Cup Final, with the day’s soccer tournament getting underway at noon.

Like the previous day, a Speaker Series gets underway at 1.30pm - The subject is, ‘Conversation on Women in Sports’, moderated by the Female Department with speakers, Emilie Fillion, retired pro-soccer player, Lynda Guy, co-founder and Creative Director of LITZI Jewellery, and two ex-national team CSA players.

There will be beer and cocktails by Labatt, Carlsberg, El Jimador, Jack Daniels, Grolsch, Glutenberg and Molson.

The beneficiaries of the Sunday event are Montreal Community Cares Foundation, which supports development of youth across the city, and Share the Warmth Foundation, which fights hunger and poverty.

Across the two days, local businesses, industry members and local football enthusiasts, will pay to play in the GOAL Initiatives tournaments and endeavour to bring the trophy home. An additional team will be made up of Montreal celebrities and media stars (players to be named shortly).

Teams already confirmed (with more to be added), will represent the following organizations - Burgundy Lion Group, Barroco/Foiegwa, Big Bang, Kampai Gardens, Parliament Pub, Bowhead Pub, Bord’elle, Telus, Imadake, Marinelli Brothers, POP Headwear, O Coiffure & Spa, David’s Tea/Squish Candy, Evenko, Isaute Brossard, Cold Brew Coffee, Passion Soccer Boutique, PSG Montreal, Lighthouse Counselling Centre and FS MTL.

Get down to Molson on Saturday and Sunday and join in all the fund-raising fun, in the sun!!!
