Evan Bush was named today as goalkeeper for MLS Team of the Week (Week 7) in MLS. His was one of several very good defensive performances in IMFC’s 1-0 home victory over Eastern Conference-topping Columbus Crew.
It was Evan’s third shut-out in succession, the second time he’s achieved the feat in MLS, and his 36th overall in regular season play over 151 appearances. Should he play as expected this coming weekend in Philadelphia, Bush will set a new Impact record for MLS Regular Season appearances, on 152, eclipsing Patrice Bernier’s 151.

Remi Garde’s tactical acumen again came to the fore in the victory, earning him yet another Coach of the Week Award. It’s Remi’s fifth such award in the last 25 weeks going back into last season. Over the same period of time, Jim Curtin and Ben Olsen are next best, with 3 apiece.

Samuel Piette, who has started every one of the Impact’s last 45 matches (all comps) was nominated as one of the substitutes in the Team of the Week selection.
Congratulations to all three!!!
You have to feel for Jukka Raitala at not getting a nomination this week after his fantastic display alongside Diallo in central defence. Powers of anticipation and positional sense were each top drawer. The Finn must be wondering what he needs to do to earn Team of the Week selection.
