It’s official Jimmy Briand has joined the Montreal Impact. The Impact has found themselves as of late and the only missing piece to the puzzle is a striker that can be deadly in the final third. Briand is the hopeful solution.
In his last three seasons spent with Guingmap he’s managed to find the net 32 times in 118 games. A guy that can use his head adequately, create space for himself in the box and more importantly provide quality finishes.

Briand could be the perfect fit in between Piatti and Silva providing the finishes to the quality crosses by Silva or use his stature to provide the space Piatti needs to get his quality shots in the net.
While this addition is a quality one the Impact haven’t found all the solutions to their problem because they will need to liberate one player to make space for Jimmy Briand. One player that comes to mind is Mancosu who ended his goalless drought on Saturday. Fans are very aware of every mistake the Italian striker makes given the amount of golden opportunities he has missed this season.

While this solution would make a lot of sense for some it is definitely not the easiest one. Another option would be trading Cabrera as he has apparently drawn the interest from some MLS clubs earlier in the season, it is not clear if that interest is still there.
The bigger issue at hand is with the addition of Briand, Mancosu becomes a big chunk of salary sitting on the bench.
