Hot Off the Press: The First International Call-Ups of 2018

Four Impact players called upon for International duty.

Last week, it was announced that Saphir Taider would join Algeria on March 19th to the 27th for two friendly games against Tanzania (March 22nd) and Iran (March 27th). This will be the 43rd international game Taider at the senior level and the Algerian team. He has 5 goals for his country and will look to add at this tally.

Today, the club announced the players that would join the Canadian team for their friendly against New Zealand; Michael Petrasso, Samuel Piette and Raheem Edwards. Anthony Jackson-Hamel was also selected but forfeited his place due to injury. The Canadian team will be taking on New Zealand in Spain at Pinatar Arena in Murcia, Spain on March 24th.

This Canada friendly will be the first match under new management John Herdman who’s had his share of success with the women’s team and assistant coach who is a familiar face, Mauro Biello.

The Impact play their final match before the break against Toronto FC this Saturday March 17th and comeback March 31st for the match up against Seattle. Meaning the four players called up should not miss any club games.
