Rumour Mill: Reinforcements On Their Way

Many rumours are developing and at rapid speed.

MLS: Montreal Impact at New England Revolution Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

While the Alejandro Silva rumour seems to be on the verge of being made official by the club, other rumours have flourished over the weekend. The Impact seems to have made an offer on French center back Rudy Camacho. At 27-years-old, Camacho would solidify the backline and offer depth to a position that is currently lacking just that. With this possible acquisition, the arrival of Fanni and eventual return of Fisher the Impact will not only have depth but options in their backline to see which combinations compliments itself the best. Camacho is a defensive defender that likes to use his strength and can challenge on aerial duels; a visible issue for the Impact he could help resolve.

The other rumour circling the club and the MLS in general is the future of Lee Nguyen. Nguyen made it clear to New England that he was no longer happy with the club and wanted to be traded. This has led the club to start listening to offers with Montreal being a front runner in the discussions alongside Chicago. The attacking central midfielder could create a deadly midfield composed of Piatti-Nguyen-Silva-Taider-Piette with depth pieces such as Vargas and Edwards.

MLS: Atlanta United FC at New England Revolution David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

The club has made it clear that some of these items will be made official in the next few days. If social media is any indicator Silva has been very active on liking reports of his move and in liking posts made by IMFC fans. If the miracle happens and all three are signed not only will the Impact have something very decent to work with but they may even be a force to reckon with.
