The Montreal Impact recently announced that former AC Milan striker and Italian international, Alberto Gilardino will start practicing with the Montreal Impact at It's Centre Nutrilait facility, starting Tuesday.
Gilardino has been wanting to get back into shape in Montreal. It is not known if Alberto Gilardino will, in fact, receive a contract from the Impact. However, if the time comes, the former 2006 World Cup winner with Italy will have to battle for a spot in the starting 11 against the likes of Dominic Oduro, Michael Salazar, Matteo Mancosu and Anthony Jackson-Hamel.
Alberto Gilardino has been through thick and thin as he has earned a plethora of accolades throughout his prestigious career. With AC Milan, Gilardino has won the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2007. He has also won the FIFA World Cup in 2006 as well as a Bronze Medal in the 2004 Olympics.
Alberto Gilardino's exceptional goal scoring abilities could be advantageous as the Impact are in search of a playoff spot. Mauro Biello's men are currently 7th in the Eastern Conference, 3 points back from Atlanta United.
