The Impact will look to continue their winning ways vs. perennial powers, FC Dallas

The Montreal Impact will look to extend their winning ways against one of the premier teams in the MLS; FC Dallas. Winning this pivotal match is crucial for the Impact if they desire to continue to remain in the hunt for a spot in the MLS playoffs. A sloppy 2-1 victory versus bottom feeders, Philadelphia Union puts them 5 points back for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Impact is currently 8th place in the Conference. Despite Mauro Biello’s side coming out on top vs. Philly, it's a necessity for Biello's men to halt their trend of generating dangerous controls and passes. The Impact will have to put forth a much better performance than they did last week if they wish to defeat Dallas.

Considering the fact that FC Dallas maintains a potent goal scoring threat like Maximiliano Urruti. We also cannot overlook that Dallas is one of the premier defensive teams in the MLS, allowing the 2nd fewest goals at 18. Montreal’s defense will definitely have to rise to the occasion to stop Urruti and co. It's also imperative for the Impact to supplant itself defensively when they face off against Dallas.

How Do The Impact Win?

It’s quite self-explanatory if you watched the Impact’s sluggish performance against the Union a few days ago. Biello’s man will have to end their tendency of committing sluggish passes that we witnessed the last match. If the Impact to do just that, they will put themselves in the best position possible to succeed.

Who’s Hot? Who’s Not?

Hot: Maximiliano Urruti has been lights out so far this season. The Argentinian has been the main offensive workhorse for Dallas. So far into this campaign, FC Dallas has put the ball past the keeper on 30 occasions. 11 of those goals has come off of Urruti’s foot. It’s undeniable to say that he is the team’s most important offensive player. Maximiliano Urruti is one of the main reasons why FC Dallas is in the upper echelon of teams in the MLS.

Not: Canada International, Tesho Akindele has so far dealt with an abysmal season. In doing so, the Calgary native has only accumulated 2 goals in 18 games. The former 6th overall pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft has been unable to jump start his career after winning the 2014 MLS Rookie of the Year. Nevertheless, Akindele still poses as an offensive threat whenever he’s on the pitch. Montreal will need to keep his play at bay if they wish to succeed vs. Dallas.
