The Montreal Impact announced on Thursday that left-footed centre-back Deian Boldor will join the club, on loan from Bologna FC, until June 30, 2018, with an option to extend the loan. He will join the club upon receiving his international transfer certificate and his work permit.

Boldor, a 22-year-old Romanian, came through AS Roma's Academy. He was loaned to Pescara in Serie B for the 2014-15 season before going to Virtus Lanciano the following year. He was transferred to Bologna FC 1909 in 2016. He spent this past season on loan with Hellas Verona, in Italia's second tier, until this past June 30, where he appeared in nine games.

"We are happy to acquire Deian on loan from Bologna, which illustrates the ongoing synergy and collaboration between both clubs," said Montreal Impact technical director Adam Braz. "Deian is a young left-footed centre-back who has a strong physical presence and will provide us with a different profile to our other centre-backs. He showed a strong desire to join our team and is highly motivated to help us reach our objectives."

Adam Braz mentioned on Tuesday to the media that the Montreal Impact was on the verge of acquiring Boldor on loan from Bologna FC and now it was made official.

At the international level, he played for the Romanian U17 team in 2011, and went up to the U21s between 2014 and 2016, playing nine games.
