There have been many reports that Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic may be looking to move to the MLS. The teams that have had the most popular interest have reported being LA Galaxy and soon to be MLS club Los Angeles FC.
Many European stars who come over to the MLS usually plan on playing for the Galaxy but with recent players like Villa, Drogba, Schweinsteiger and Pirlo playing for other teams, it opens up the possibility of these stars to play for other clubs.
Zlatan will have a huge price tag next to his name as Los Angeles FC have offered the striker a deal worth $6.4m a year, this shouldn't shy the Montreal Impact away from Ibrahimovic, as we all know money isn't a problem in Montreal. With Zlatan's new injury it's highly likely Manchester United won't be offering him a new contract making his rumored move to the MLS more likely.
The 35-year-old spent 5 years playing for Paris Saint-Germain in France which was the longest Zlatan played for a single club which means he really liked the French culture in France. Which team in the MLS has a French fan base and culture? None other than the Montreal Impact. When Didier Drogba planned his move to the MLS he was looking for the French connection and I'm pretty sure Zlatan will have that in the back of his mind.
Zlatan and PSG once played at Stade Saputo as they won the 2015 Trophée des Champions in Montreal. The match was contested by the 2015 Ligue 1 and Coupe de France champions Paris Saint-Germain and the runners-up of the Ligue 1, Olympique Lyonnais. So it's not like Zlatan has no idea what Montreal is about.
Although the possibility of Zlatan Ibrahimovic playing for the Montreal Impact is slim, Joey Saputo should still give it a try as you never what could happen.
