Didier Drogba confirms that he will leave the Montreal Impact

Drogba won't be retiring for now

After the Montreal Impact's 3-2 win over Toronto FC, in the home leg of the Eastern Conference final, the club asked fans to stay after the final whistle, for a special ceremony.

That ceremony would end up being a farewell to Didier Drogba, as it was the last home game for the club and the legend.

Surrounded by his teammates, staff and president Joey Saputo, Drogba gave a heartfelt speech, thanking the city for 18 months of great memories.

Though, the story could have done without the bump on the road when Drogba, unhappy to be on the bench against Toronto FC at the end of the season, took himself off the game sheet. Giving no choice to Biello, the manager went on with Matteo Mancosu.

Drogba did not say that he will be retiring though there has been banter on the web that he might be joining Chelsea as a coach or such. One thing for sure, the Legend will be missed but it would be nice to see him lift the MLS Cup and participate in a MLS Cup winning parade in the streets of Montreal.
