Cameron Porter out for the season with torn ACL, surgery required

Eric Bolte-USA TODAY Sports

After suffering a horrific knee injury against the New England Revolution, the Montreal Impact has just announced that Cameron Porter will have to undergo surgery on his left knee to repair an ACL tear. Via press release, the club advises that the player "is scheduled for surgery next week and is expected to be out approximately nine to 12 months".

This is a really tough break for Porter who has been nothing less than outstanding and seemingly coming from nowhere. He was the CONCACAF Champions League hero against Pachuca and was key in the club's 2-0 victory over Alajuense. Jack McInerney, Dominic Oduro and Romari Williams are the club's only other options at the forward position as Orlando City SC comes in to town with its load of injuries, absentees and Kaka.
