The Montreal Impact have added another player to its roster and depth to the center back position when it signed Nigerian international Gege Soriola. The 25-year-old Nigerian has officially joined the team on Tuesday but was supposed to join the club much earlier. Due to administrative issues with papers and transfers, Soriola has only come to Montreal recently.

The center back has played the last three seasons in the South African league with the Free State Stars as he made 40 appearances. He was previously a member of Nigerian clubs JUTH, FC Bayelsa United FC and Heartland. With 8 international caps with the Super Eagles, Soriola hopes to bring experience and a tactical awareness as he also added, after his first practice, that  he is "good tactically , can use the ball and pass it ".

At the end, Soriola represents depth for the rest of the season but most importantly is an addition for the future and more specifically 2015 as Frank Klopas is building the squad to his image, or at least to his liking.
