Justin Mapp scores as the Montreal Impact gets a 1-1 tie against Toronto FC

Doneil Henry gives Toronto FC the lead but Justin Mapp responds in the second half with a beauty of a goal to give a 1-1 tie to the Montreal Impact.

Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

Light as a butterfly, stings like bee. This pretty much sums up Justin Mapp as he wreaks havoc in MLS and in the Amway Canadian Championship. But early in the game, the Montreal Impact lost Nelson Rivas to injury and did not have any momentum for the first 45 minutes.

Doneil Henry's goal ,off a corner kick, gave Toronto FC a 1-0 lead. After 45 minutes, it was doom and gloom around the #IMFC hashtag until the team played a much better second half, led by Mapp and a new-born Andres Romero. Even after a Steven Caldwell handball that was not called for a penalty, the bleu-blanc-noir came back in the game.

With an away goal, Montreal has the upper-hand in the home-away series but expect Toronto FC to play all of its available big guns, next Wednesday at Stade Saputo.

Showing mental strength and more intensity ,as the game went on, could trigger a string of good results. For now, the club might just focus on winning the Amway Canadian Championship to bring honor and silverware to itself and its fans.

The Impact face the New England Revolution at Stade Saputo this weekend.
