Heath Pearce officially joins the Montreal Impact and adds experience to a back-line that needed help. Having joined the club during pre-season in Orlando, the American left back will add more depth while bringing an offensive upside to the left side of Montreal.
A three-time MLS All Star, Pearce played two seasons with the New York Red Bulls after spending a few seasons with FC Dallas and Chivas USA. Before coming to the MLS in 2009, Pearce he played in Europe for FC Nordsjealland, in the Danish first division, and with Hansa Rostock, in both the first and second divisions in Germany.
A US international, the left back played a total of 35 games with the U.S. national team and was also on the 30-man preliminary roster for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
Nick De Santis, Sporting Director of the Montreal Impact
Having played over 100 games in this league, his experience and soccer savvy will bring a lot to the team. He is a natural left back, who will give us more depth on defense and who can contribute to the offence as well. Heath is highly motivated to get back to the level that saw him on the national team at one point in his career.
