Blake Smith almost became the hero for the Montreal Impact against the Seattle Sounders. Even if his shot actually went in and counted as a goal, the Impact would still be trailing Seattle by one goal.
What I like about the play
The Impact is desperate to score a goal and picked up the pace to try and cut Seattle's to one goal. Seattle is staying back and crowding the middle of the pitch from just outside the 18-yard box.
No need to describe the self-explanatory gif but Blake Smith's shot fake, Heath Pearce's awareness to make a run inside the box and Smith's volley was a pleasure to watch.
