Bakary Soumare was the first player taken in the draft and the Montreal Impact did not miss the chance to bolster its back-line. The ex-Chicago Fire central defender rejoins his old coach and technical director, Frank Klopas, who promised to get a 28-year old defender.
Klopas obviously kept his promise to bring in experience for a Montreal back-line that has suffered since joining MLS in 2012. If Aurelin Collin was probably Plan A, Soumare looks like a decent plan B, if that theory holds true.
