Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

The Montreal Impact select a forward in Pete Caringi with its only third round pick during the 2014 MLS SuperDraft. Officially known as Pete Caringi III (The Third), the striker is a senior with the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) Retrievers.

In four year with the UMBC, Caringi scored a total of 37 goals in 77 games and pinched in with 17 assists. In the summer of 2013, Caringi played in the USL Premier Developement League with the Baltimore Bohemians. He became the PDL's Golden Boot winner in 2013 as he scored 16 goals in 12 games :The Bohemians participated the first time to the playoffs.

His profile seems to be of a  '' fox in the box '' type of striker with '' an ability to control the ball'' but I hope that this requirement is a must-have skill for all players aspiring to become professionals.

During the 2014 MLS Combine, Caringi scores a total of two goals in three games. First round draft pick, Eric Miller, gave an assist to one of Caringi's goal (fun fact).
