Guatemala City is the Montreal Impact's next destination as it travels to face C.D. Heredia. After an important 3 points earned against the San Jose Earthquakes, the Impact can take a serious option in the group stage with 6 points. The mid-week game is always cumbersome for most teams and Marco Schallibaum will need to work his magic as per squad rotation, game management and motivation.
On Monday, the Impact practice at Stade Saputo at noon, following a departure to Guatemala City. My scientific calculations (via expedia.ca) give me the following flight details , if I would leave later this afternoon.
Miami (MIA) to Guatemala City (GUA)
Total trip time: 18h 30m
I hope that the Impact might be taking a charter flight hence avoiding the transit time and such. Like I said, my flight plan is based on precise scientifical data...I think.
On Tuesday, the Impact will practice at Guatemala City at 20:00 EST, which would give the staff and players a good idea on weather and pitch conditions before the game on Wednesday.
The big game will be played at 22:00 EST at Estadio Cementos Progreso against C.D. Heredia. You can follow @DaveJdeM and @LeFooteur, who will both be in Guatemala city. The game will be broadcasted on Sportsnet and TVA Sports so prepare your coffees and loosen up your thumbs for your tweets.
The Montreal Impact come back home on Thursday and will have a practice on the same day, at 18:00 EST at Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard. The Houston Dynamo will aso be in town in preparation of the weekend game at Stade Saputo.
As per usual, you can listen to game , vs the Dynamo, at Stade Saputo on CJAD800 with the best pre-game and post-game show on radio. Don't forget to tune in the half-time show, the #SoccerGangOf4.
