Montreal Impact Practice: Troy Perkins has arrived

It was another practice day at Complexe Sportif Claude-Robillard and we got to see newly-acquired goalkeeper Troy Perkins. The Ohio-native came to Montreal yesterday evening/night and no time was wasted to integrate him into the team.

Practice was not an intense physical one for the players but we did see the usual goalkeeping drills and 10 vs 10 simulated game between the starters and the bench:

  • Marco Di Vaio was back with the team and looked energetic as per usual.
  • Alessandro Nesta was not on the pitch and no news on whether he was injured or took a personal day
  • Jesse Marsch knew the suspension for Nelson Rivas from the league but did not communicate it to us (MLS procedures) as the news did not come out officially...yet.
  • Zarek Valentin was still sidelined doing some work on the side to work on his ankle (ankle sprain)
Sounds from Practice after the jump including Patrice Bernier talking about chemistry/confidence in the midifeld and Jesse Marsch thoughts on the updated MLS Tie Break Rules. Troy Perkins shares the good vibes he felt with the Impact and some choice words for Gavin Wilkinson of the Portland Timbers.
