May 16th 2012: The Montreal Impact Injury Report

Here is the latest injury report for the Montreal Impact and it's good to see the list get shorter and shorter.

Zarek Valentin (right calf contusion)

The right back / center back is still suffering from a calf contusion but looked better recently as I saw him walk almost normally and should be ready to join his team mates in practice within 7 days.

Josh Gardner (hamstring tendinitis)

The offensive left back has not played since the Impact's hard-fought loss against Real Salt Lake and seems to still be bothered by a hamstring injury.

Evan James (nose fracture)

The Canadian U23 international has not had a chance to play with the first team but logged some minutes with the reserve team. His unfortunate accident in practice

Justin Mapp (right calf strain)

After being rested against Sporting Kansas City and initially sidelined by an earlier injury, the left-footed midfielder/winger has not shown as much pep as the fans are used to but still has not lost his magical touch. Arguably the most technical player on the team, his impact (no pun intended) is obvious after a slow start to the season. A 3-week break between the Colorado Rapids (26/05/2012) game and the Stade Saputo home opener against the Seattle Sounders (16/06/2012) will be enjoyed by the MLS veteran.
