For a change, Stade Olympique is not only associated with memories of a city's hay days and an ongoing bill for the city's taxpayers. The Montreal Impact continue their unbeaten streak at the Big O with a 1-1 tie against the MLS Galacticos, the LA Galaxy.
Davy Arnaud gave an early lead to the Impact at the 9th minute when Nelson Rivas played a long ball that Bernardo Corradi could not get to but find itself behind the LA defense and a streaking Davy Arnaud. The Montreal Impact captain did not ask twice and found himself alone in front of 22-year old California native, Brian Perk and scores his 2nd goal of the season.For the LA Galaxy, who else then David Beckham to get the equalizer from a trademark Beckham-esque freekick and just drives that ball into the net past a diving Donovan Ricketts.
Montreal is a hockey town (don't tell David Beckham that), a football town (with the Montreal Alouette, a soccer town with the Impact but is also an event city with another record breaking attendance number of 60,342 fans.
