Gio's Random Thoughts: Week of April 8th

Welcome to the latest installment of "Gio's Random Thoughts". Every week, I will unleash some observations about what the Impact and the MLS. Some good, some bad, some ugly. So kick back, relax, put on your favorite socks and enjoy!

• TFC's Terry Dunfield doesn't even look like a Soccer player. Looks like TFC was missing a player and picked the first guy coming out of a pub.
• So TFC fans got a police escort into the Big O... Really? Really? Where are we? England? Are we hooligans?
• I know that every team has Ultras and die hards and passionate fans but seriously folks, learn to get along! Fighting and cursing each other out is just non-sense. GROW UP!
• It's weird. We are supposed to teach our kids to be nice, not to be bullies, to respect others and then we go to a Soccer game and start mean chants against the other team? Start fights? Can someone explain that logic to me?
• Donovan Ricketts switched to a full yellow kit. Much less aggressive but that's A LOT OF YELLOW! Sutton had the same gear on. If they ever need to make a few extra bucks, they could help land planes at the airport during a power outage. Pilots could see them from 100 miles away!

• To those of you who are already doubting Jesse Marsch: Can you give it a rest now? Let the man do his job. Actually, go to the pharmacy, buy an "I'm Sorry" card and send it to him. NOW!
• While you're at it, buy an "I'm Sorry" card for Bernardo Corradi. He's getting more and more match fit and the production will only increase.
• Putting a team together is like watching your nonna make her amazing pasta sauce. Taste, add salt, taste, add basil, taste again, add sugar, etc... It takes time to make the perfect sauce. It takes time to build a great team. Be patient!!!
• Justin Braun, you had your chance and didn't seize it. Sorry bud. Love your heart but now others will have their turn.
• With 3 games in 7 days, how can anyone be surprised at any of the changes that Marsch did to his lineup? No one will play every single game.
• Look, I love Eddy Sebrango too. He's a warrior, a great guy and a great influence in the room BUT let's get one thing straight, he is nowhere near the top of the depth chart for a start.
• Andrew Wenger 1, Darren Mattocks 0.
• Darren, how you liking your playing time in Vancouver there superstar??
• I have all the respect in the world for Wenger and love him as a player BUT he needs to get a new hairstyle. He's got too much of an innocent schoolboy look. Get something more manly. I say he rocks a mohawk in the next game!
• Watching Matteo Ferrari play defense is like listening to your favorite song: Makes you smile, make you comfortable, makes you feel good.
• I know Patrice Bernier is the local guy. He's a very good player. Just because he's the local guy doesn't mean he will play every game. Other guys have the right to play too. Remember, winning first!!
• I wonder if Zarek and Danny Koevermans are walking straight a few days after the game. Both had their "twins" crushed in the first half.
• When Zarek Valentin got hit in the family jewels, 100 000 Montreal women started crying. Don't worry ladies, the boys are just fine.
• Only 23 000 at the Big O against TO?? NOT ENOUGH!! Next home game is against Portland. Call your grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle and your cousin's husband's niece's boyfriend's mother and get tell them all to buy tickets!! Have a family reunion at the Big O! I'll even make a guest appearance (as long as there is free food, maybe a single good looking aunt)
