Whatcha doing in the offseason: Felipe Martins

Felipe Martins shares his off-season plans away from the club while recovering from his sports hernia surgery.

Mount Royal Soccer : Where do you call home during the off season?

Felipe Martins : I'm in Parana, South Brazil, with my parents and I am still working to get ready to come back. It's very warm here, close to 39 degrees!

What does your offseason training program look like? Is there anything specific that you will be working on?

It's looking good! I like the program, but when you are out for two months, it is a bit hard to come back. I'm working really hard to be ready to come back.

What activity are looking forward to the most during the offseason?

I'm doing my program and I'm always with my friends and family. I went to Pantanal, a safari in Mato Grosso. I will soon be going to the beach for the New Year.

Have you set any goals for yourself heading into next season?

Aside from numbers, I want to help the eam make playoffs but for now I just want to come back and play. Play well and get better!

What is your favorite moment of the 2012 season?

My favorite moment was my first goal at Stade Saputo, an amazing moment for me. That is what I dreamt all my life, do to something that will be in history.

What are your hobbies/interests outside of Soccer?

I like to stay with my friends and go to the beach. I also enjoy going to restaurants with them. Most of all, I like to play soccer.

Favorite non-MLS team/league? Why?

I like Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho because he knows how to use his team and everything about soccer.

Which team do you think will win the Champions' League? Why?

I hope Real Madrid wins it, it's been a long time since they won the Champions League. Mourinho deserves it.
