The Camerounian international was acquired by the Impact via trade but himself and his entourage don't feel like coming to Montreal

Ambroise Oyongo has still not joined the Montreal Impact after being acquired from the New York Red Bulls via trade. The Camerounian did not join the team yet from Equatorial Guinea after Cameroun was eliminated from the 2015 AFCON.

An article on the French website-newspaper L'Equipe declares that Oyongo's arrival in MLS is not "legal" per-say as his loan from amateur club, Rainbow FC Bamenda, became a transfer when the New York Red Bulls bought his rights (and in consequence so did the MLS). Oyongo's agent claims that the player's amateur contract with Rainbow FC did not permit a transfer to MLS.

It is quite clear that the player's agent is contesting the trade as he was promised by the Red Bulls that he was in the club's plan. Since, Oyongo's entourage do not see a move from NY to Montreal as an upgrade. In the meantime, the Camerounian football federation, FECA FOOT , has not issued an official statement even though it is being given the lead role on this litigation.

One thing is clear, Oyongo's rights are owned by the MLS and the Montreal Impact. At least both the club and the league has made it clear that the Camerounian international's rights are owned by them.
