The Montreal Impact has declined exercising options on two players today, including one name that was not expected to see. Those names are Hassoun Camara and Kenny Cooper. If Cooper was probably not in the club's long-term plans, especially since the arrival of Didier Drogba, it is a bit surprising to see expansion veteran and crowd favorite Hassoun Camara not signed yet by the club.
Additionally, the Montreal Impact exercised options (as in re-signed) Evan Bush, Eric Kronberg , Maxime Crépeau Donny Toia, Wandrille Lefèvre , Eric Miller, Kyle Bekker, Eric Alexander , Maxim Tissot, and Anthony Jackson-Hamel.
They join a list of players already under contracts: Laurent Ciman and Ambroise Oyongo, Patrice Bernier, Marco Donadel, Calum Mallace, Ignacio Piatti, Nigel Reo-Coker, Andrés Romero , Johan Venegas, Didier Drogba and Romario Williams.
As per new deals, both Jeremy Gagnon-Laparé and Dominic signed new deals with the club. CONCACAF Champions League Cameron Porter has not been re-signed yet but the club confirms via press release that both parties are in advance talks to keep him in La Belle Province.
The club is still in talks with River Plate to bring back Victor Cabrera, who was on loan from Argentina during the 2015 MLS season. Free agents Justin Mapp and Dilly Duka have both received offers by the club, confirmed also via press release.
