Electrical giant now sponsor to all three Canadian MLS clubs...

GE Appliances President, Mike McCrea and CF Montreal President, Kevin Gilmore celebrate the announcement of a multi-year partnership between the brand and club. With this new sponsorship, GE Appliances is now an official partner of all three Canadian MLS teams.

If the club formerly known as the Montreal Impact are ever looking for a new name.... No! Wait! That’s enough. Let’s not stir the you know what...

But yesterday CF Montreal entered into a new three-year deal with GE Appliances Canada.
“We are proud to welcome a partner like GE Appliances, with whom we share our love for our sport and the same commitment to excellence,” said CF Montréal President and CEO, Kevin Gilmore. “This partnership will go well beyond in-stadium fan experience, thanks to GE Appliance’s unparalleled involvement in youth development programs.”

In response Mike McCrea, President of GE Appliances Canada said, “As a proud supporter of the beautiful game in Canada, we could not be more excited to join the CF Montréal family. Montreal fans are fiercely passionate and dedicated to their community, we’re so proud to share their passion for this team and this sport. We look forward to helping spread the love of soccer in Montréal for many seasons to come.”

One innovation stimulated by the new partnership is the “GE Player of Quality Scholarship” campaign, which will be unrolled throughout the province. The program is designed to provide access to a scholarship, allowing the most deserving participants to attend the Club’s soccer schools and camps.

The sponsorship brings Montreal into line with the two other Canadian MLS clubs who already have partnership with GE Appliances Canada.

GE Appliances Canada first entered a partnership with Montreal’s rival club, Toronto FC in 2019 and the brand continues to have an active presence at BMO Field through youth development programs and in becoming TFC’s first-ever sleeve patch sponsor.

The Vancouver Whitecaps partnership was launched a year later and again heavily focuses on youth development, highlighting up and coming players progressing through the Caps’ development programs.

Away from the clubs, GE is also kicking-off a season-long partnership with TSN during broadcasts of select Canadian MLS matches this season.

Toronto FC midfielder, Jonathan Osorio has also signed on to partner with GE Appliances to promote the game in Canada. Osorio will participate in a new 30-second ad that will debut at the start of the new MLS season.
