It looks like the last we’ll see of Lassi Lappalainen this season...
The Impact’s Finnish international midfielder injured a shoulder in the 2-1 victory over Columbus Crew in which he scored, and now must undergo surgery this Wednesday in Italy.
It also raises the question whether we will see the 22-year-old back in Montreal Impact colours again.
His loan deal runs out on the last day of 2020, upon which he is due to return to Bologna.
Lassi Lappalainen scored 4 MLS goals in 7 starts this season. He also appeared six times from the bench.
Overall Lassi has played 29 times (18 starts) for Montreal Impact, scoring 9 goals, which makes him the joint-13th highest scorer (equal with Hassoun Camera) in the MLS-era.
Impact Career -
MLS 15+9 9 goals
MLS-is-Back R16 0+1 0 goals
CAN Champ 3+1 0 goals
Total 18+11 9 goals.
