Four CFM Players Selected for Olympic Qualifying in Guadalajara

Canada’s U23 head coach Mauro Biello has called up CF Montreal players, James Pantemis, Zorhan Bassong, Zachary Brault-Guillard, and Ballou Tabla for the Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament, from March 18 to 30, 2021, in Guadalajara, Mexico.

CF Montréal’s Academy U23 head coach Jason Di Tullio will also be joining Biello as an assistant coach in the competition.

The u23’s will face Honduras, Haiti, and El Salvador in Group B with the top two sides progressing to the semi-finals. The two countries reaching the final will each qualify for the Olympic Games football tournament.

Of the Montreal quartet, only Pantemis (24) has previous u23 caps with 3. He is also the only one of the four not yet capped at full international level.

Zorhan Bassong (21) has 2 full caps, Ballou Tabla (21) 2 full caps and Zachary Brault-Guillard (22) 4 full caps.
