AC Milan has confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic has tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of tonight’s Europa League third qualifying round match against Norway’s Bodo/Glimt.
It’s understood that the Swede’s positive test will not have any knock-on effect on Irish club Shamrock Rovers, whom Milan knocked out last week, ahead of their League of Ireland table-topping trip trip to Dundalk.
The player has been placed in quarantine.
A brief statement released by Ibrahimovic’s club read:

Ibrahimovic, 38, scored two goals in Milan’s 2-0 Serie A victory over Bologna at the San Siro on Monday night. This day last week, he was also in goalscoring form as the Italian giants downed League of Ireland Premier Division table-toppers Shamrock Rovers 2-0 in Dublin.
