Canada now knows the dates for their 2022 World Cup First Round qualifying series.
The Canucks have been drawn in Group B alongside Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Aruba and Surinam. They will play Bermuda and Surinam at home (venues yet to be decided) and Cayman Islands and Aruba away.
Each team plays each other only once.
The dates are as follows -
Thu 25 March - Bermuda (home)
Sun 28 March - Cayman Islands (away)
Sat 5 June - Aruba (away)
Tue 8 June - Surinam (home)
The group winner will play off against the winner of Group E for a place in the final round which contains 8 nations rather than the traditional hex.
Canada’s most likely opponent in the play-off is their 2019 Gold Cup conquerors Haiti, who are joined in Group E by Nicaragua, Belize, St Lucia and Turks & Caicos.
The winners of the play-off will join USA, Costa Rica, Honduras, Jamaica and Mexico and two other successful second round play-off nations in the final eight which will involve home and away fixtures between all the nations.
The top three nations will qualify for Qatar, with the country placed fourth advancing to an inter-continental play-off for a place in Qatar.
